Visualization

I want to take this opportunity to share a very important segment of golf…..Visualization (a.k.a. Mental Imagery)

A Key to Success on the golf course is Using your mind!! THINK!!!…before your shot!  The ultimate mind game.  This is a very important part of your game and something that should be practiced…just as you stand out there and hit balls, chip and putt to practice. The true bottom line….’What you think, is what you get!’

There is plenty of research out there supporting the importance of Mental Imagery in every sport….even in daily life!

Not only can you Visualize that awesome shot before you even swing…you can THINK about how the gallery is going to respond to your impressive shot. I have been there and experienced the incredible result of ‘seeing’ in my mind’s eye!

It is time to use your brain to improve your game, achieve your goals and reach your Peak Performance! Close your eyes and image the ball going right where you want it to go!! You will be amazed at the result.

Let Kate and VFS help you learn how to Visualize!!

Motivation for Off Season Practice and Preparing for the New Season

You may be on a break from tournament or team play golf….but you shouldn’t be on a break from practicing. Did you know that now is the best time to work on your game…even if it is not out on the course?!?!? This is a great time to hone your skills and keep in golf shape!! One must be driven from within to succeed….be motivated to reach your full potential.

Motivation is one of the strongest factors in successful athletes. Motivation is that internal force that determines all aspects of our behavior from how we think to how we feel. In sport, being highly motivated is widely believed to be a prerequisite for ensuring that athletes reach their full potential. Elite athletes have been found to have a large amount of intrinsic motivation and you too can increase your intrinsic motivation. Intrinsic motivation comes from within.

We can work together and I can share with you some of the types of practice and skills you can do even away from the course….visualization, mental training, positive thinking and much more. You can and will reach your full potential…believe and you will achieve.

A 9 Year Old Boy’s Take on Golf Channel

So, I ran into a little boy and his family while eating lunch today. We started a conversation and he asked what my favorite sport was. Well of course I said Golf!! His response…”Golf, is that the Grass Channel??” My reply, “You mean the Golf Channel?” The 9-year-old says, “I guess. So you like to watch grass grow?? And there is a channel to do that!?!”

Well, I feel I am now educated on the Golf Channel and what it is really about…..grass and how it grows!!!! Oh, and by the way, his favorite sport is Soccer!!! I just had no come back!! But I realize, I have lots to do to educate our young athletes!!
